The school day starts at 8:55 and finishes at 3:30pm. Our doors open at 8:45 so that we can ensure that the children are in on time. Between 8:45 and 9am pupils take part in Wake and Shake to get them energised for the day and to ensure they get physically active. The doors shut at 9am and after that children need to enter via the office.
At 10:25am, children from Y2 to Y6 have a 15 minute break. Fruit can be brought from home or toast can be purchased from school at a cost of 20p per slice. Year 1 have their break between 10:40 and 10:55.
Children in Reception have their lunch at 11:45 and play out until 1pm. Children in KS1 and 2 have their lunch time between 12 noon and 1pm.
We have a whole school assembly on a Monday morning which is based on our value of the month. On Tuesday each class performs an assembly to which parents are invited on a rota basis. On Wednesday and Thursday we have assemblies in classrooms and on Friday we hold a celebration assembly where again parents are invited. All of our assemblies start at 3pm.
Drop off and collection
At the beginning and end of the school day, parents are encouraged into the playground. This helps to build up a good relationship between school and home which is important for your child's progress. If normal arrangememts have to be altered please let us know to avoid any confusion or upset.
Getting to school
Walking to and from school is definitely the best option! There are lots of benefits: it's healthier than travelling by car, it improves the safety around school and allows you to speak to your child about their learning. Alternatively, cycling safely (using a helmet) or on a scooter is also beneficial. Parking is limited around school so we ask that if you are travelling by car, you respect our neighbours and park carefully.
