Highfield is a community school, opened in 1928 and has always been one of the largest schools in Chorley. We currently have approximately 265 pupils on roll in 10 classes. We have a spacious ICT suite, large reception classrooms and a nurture room.
Our mission is to ensure that Highfield is a happy, safe and healthy school where pupils enjoy learning together by always doing their best, respect and care for one another and make the right choice. As a nurturing school we ensure unconditional and positive regard is given to all pupils. We recognise the need for consistency of approach and clear boundaries and that pupils need to be treated as individuals.
The curriculum at Highfield is designed to be motivational and to ensure that the children achieve their very best. We are proud that the 2016 end of Key Stage 2 assessments places us in the top 25% of all schools nationally for pupil progress and above the national average for attainment. We place emphasis on giving the pupils a love for learning and a reason to want to continue their educational journey when they leave us at the age of 11.
There is only so much that you can learn from a website and we invite you to visit the school and see us in action for yourselves.
